Cherries are so clever. They are so clever that they can block pain and inflammation signals in your body (in the same way ibuprofen (Nurofen) and aspirin do). They can make you sleepy at sleep time because they have significant quantities of melatonin. They have lots of goodies like Vitamin A and C, copper and manganese. They can prevent attacks of gout because they cleverly reduce the production of uric acid in your body, oh, and also, research suggests that a compound in Tart Cherries called Perillyl Alcohol is super awesome at reducing the incidence of all types of cancer. Peow Peow! Go Cherries!
Chia is a teeny tiny little seed that really means business. An ancient superseed of the Mayans and Aztecs, it is full of protein and fibre and has the most Omega 3 of any known plant. Also known as ‘The Indian Running food’ for the high-energy endurance it imparts. Traditionally used for anything from wounds, colds and sore throats, to upset stomachs, body odours and constipation. So prized were they in ancient times that they were offered to the Gods and also used as currency to pay taxes.
And together, with their powers combined, they make you your Sweet Cherry Chia Breakfast Jar!
