Know your limits and drink responsibly.

No two people will react to the same drink in exactly the same way. Remember the many different factors which determine how your drink will effect you. For example...

1. Body weight/body type: In general, the less you weigh the more you will be affected. However, for people of the same weight, a well muscled individual will be less affected than someone with a higher percentage of body fat.

2. Medication: If you are taking any, it could increase the effect of alcohol. Follow your doctor's advice.

3. Fatigue: If you are tired, the effect of alcohol will be greater than if you are well rested.

4. Food: The less you have in your stomach, the more you will be affected.

5. Drinking time: The longer you take to consume each drink, and the longer you wait between drinks, the less effect they will have, because your body begins to metabolize the alcohol.

6. Alcohol content: It's not how many drinks you have...but how much alcohol you consume.
This calculator provides estimates only. Mixed drinks are based on typical drink recipes using 80 proof liquor. The amount of alcohol in actual mixed drinks may vary.
